The Brief

The SickKids Patient Support Centre is the new home of the SickKids Learning Institute, a building that supports more than a thousand world-class trainees, students, and learners every year. The Foundation needed a donor recognition strategy for the entire building that matched the ambition of the space and honoured the community that made it possible.

The Work

Envision developed and delivered the full recognition environment: wall plaques, elevator wraps, and two signature features in the lobby: the grand staircase and a marquee digital fixture integrating LED tiles within a stainless steel frame with inlaid accent lighting. Both elements are visible from the exterior glass facade, making the recognition environment part of the building’s public face from the moment visitors arrive. The project was completed on a compressed timeline ahead of the building’s opening, to high praise from all stakeholders.

The Relationship

The Patient Support Centre is the latest chapter in a partnership spanning more than a decade, from the PGCRL lobby to the main hospital, and now to this landmark new building.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Envision for the past 10+ years on a variety of projects in a variety of sectors, ranging from the largest and most complex digital installations to the smallest of plaques, and everything in between. Their experience and attention to the needs of the client are unparalleled. It always feels like a true partnership where we bring out the best in each other and the best for the organization.
